With a coastline stretching nearly 9,000 kilometers, Denmark’s coasts and salt marshes are naturally a dominant feature of the Danish landscape. The coastal terrain varies from wide sandy beaches to steep cliffs, and in many places, extensive salt marshes lie behind the shoreline.
